IE View is a simple Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox extension (for Microsoft Windows systems), which allows the current page or a selected link to be opened in Internet Explorer.

Expands the context menu's 'Search for' item into a list of installed search engines, allowing you to choose a specific search engine every time.

Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings – including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords – across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.

The newest version of the Conquery extension works with Firefox on Macs, unlike the older version.

The Penn Libraries Toolbar is a custom-made web browser extension for University of Pennsylvania students, faculty, and staff.
It provides a persistent search box that allows you to search:

• The Penn website using Google
• Penn Library databases, e-journals, FAQs, Library web pages and more using FindIt!
• Franklin Library Catalog by Title, Keywords, Author and Journal Title
• VCat, the Library Video Catalog, for Videos and DVD Collections in the Penn Library

It also provides links to frequently used Penn and Penn Library websites, Webmail, Ask a Librarian, Blackboard and the Penn Library social bookmarking tool, PennTags.

A useful extension manager. Mr Tech makes it much easier to manage options on all of your firefox extensions.

Here you can find a Search plugin which you can add to the search box in your browser.
You can search by name (or url), by category, by country or by language and also by any combination of the above.

My favorite extension. Lightweight, fast and flexible - it allows to query web services by context menu of the browser. Queries may contain various parameters of currently browsing web page: selected text, URL, host etc. Be sure to look at the library labs page for search plugins to add to conquery.

Adds a little panel to the page when you are looking at a book to find where you can buy the book online for cheaper.

mozCC is an extension for Mozilla-based browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Flock, Mozilla and Netscape, which provides a convenient way to examine Creative Commons licenses embedded in web pages. It’s at least twice as good as View Source.

McAfee siteadvisor tells you how safe a site is based on their tests of how much spam you will receive from the page, etc.

Some laptops will be provided, but please bring your own laptop if you have one: As the web is becoming a more flexible and robust research environment, the library is finding ways to use new technologies to more efficiently find and use research level resources. Attendees will be introduced to the library's groundbreaking tool for storing, sharing and organizing research links, and will learn how to customize Firefox to make it an efficient tool for research.

A very easy way to add needlesearch-like ability to firefox. Quite cool.

Three really nice looking extensions, allowing users to 1.double click on a word for the definition as a tooltip 2. download-to, where you select a couple of default locations where you might download files.

The Cooliris Mission is to make browsing and searching more intuitive and efficient using intelligent previews. Our first product is a free browser extension that allows you to conveniently preview underlying content for Google searches.
