(from cover page)The Index to Current Urban Documents makes available complete and detailed bibliographic descriptions of the majority of the local government documents issued annually by the largest cities and counties in the United States and Canada. With the cooperation and assistance of local government officials, public libraries, municipal reference libraries and major research libraries, the program attempts to catalog and index documents issued by 286 of the larger cities and their counties and regions." Copies of the documents themselves can be found in the accompanying microfilm collection in the Government Documents room.

Most useful for documents from 1972-late 90's, but other documents are included. Each volume includes two indexes: a geographical index and a subject index.

Prints & Photographs Online Catalog - Bain Collection (LOC)

The George Grantham Bain Collection represents the photographic files of one of America's earliest news picture agencies. The collection richly documents sports events, theater, celebrities, crime, strikes, disasters, political activities including the woman suffrage campaign, conventions and public celebrations. The photographs Bain produced and gathered for distribution through his news service were worldwide in their coverage, but there was a special emphasis on life in New York City. The bulk of the collection dates from the 1900s to the mid-1920s, but scattered images can be found as early as the 1860s and as late as the 1930s.

Pennsylvania German Broadsides: Windows into an American Culture

"Exhibit of broadsides, "pieces of paper printed on one side, for sale or distribution at fairs, markets, or by peddlers who roamed the countryside with them. Some, like baptismal and marriage certificates, were kept, while others were often discarded after use. ... Local printers are still producing broadsides of all sorts."
